The newly-constructed building Zeezicht, in the harbour of Scheveningen, has reached its highest point. This milestone was celebrated fittingly on-site. No ‘highest-point’ party in these times of Corona, but Stebru’s implementation team did give every construction site employee their own meal of fried fish.
Forty-five apartments rise from Scheveningen’s Hellingweg. This is where Stebru developed “Zeezicht”, a unique building on the spot where the sea, the city and the harbour meet. This happened in collaboration with Klunder Architecten, Constructie Adviesbureau S3, Nieman Raadgevende Ingenieurs, Mees Ruimte and Milieu en Spindler Installatietechniek. The building has been sold to Catella, which will start renting out the units in mid-2020.
The unique curved shape of the building is based on a mainsail, and the façade ends in a shape that brings to mind the prow of a sharp yacht. The one-of-a-kind façade offers its residents generous balconies and fantastic views of the sea, the dunes, the harbour and the city. The average size of the rental apartments is 95m2. The top three floors are where the more spacious penthouses are. Other than that, the building will have a parking garage with a roof that is covered by a dunescape, while on the ground floor there will be the possibility to create commercial (office) space.
